EQUIYOGA & EQUIYOGA THERAPIES
I have ridden, owned and worked with horses for the last 30+ years.
I've done everything from mucking out, being a professional groom,
working as a yard manager to backing, teaching, schooling, and now as a ESMT. This gives me an excellent
insight to how we function as equestrians.
Having worked with all different horses and disciplines over the years, I have learnt how important it is to treat the horse as a whole.
Most of us will know the saying "no foot no horse" but do you understand the implications that issues with the feet can have further up the body? Or that a tightness through the shoulder or back can cause lower down the horses body ?
As an ESMT I use a variety of techniques to assess the horse and determine areas of discomfort, restriction and dysfunction allowing me to address the horses musculoskeletal health in the best way possible.
Equine sports massage is designed to help support the demands we put on our horses. Horses are not anatomically designed to carry our weight, so we must work together as practitioners, vets, trainers and farriers to help support them retaining their natural biomechanics and cadence.
Its wonderful being able to provide a much needed service to our much loved equine companions

YOGA
As a yoga teacher and equestrian I realised pretty quickly the positive impact yoga had on all aspects of my riding, from greater awareness of my body to increase in strength and balance. The fact that it also helped my stress levels and help keep me injury free was an added bonus.
So EQUIYOGA was born. Everyone that has attended the EQUIYOGA classes has noticed a positive improvement in their riding.

I can come to your yard/venue to do a group workshop
or regular classes with you and your friends!
I also offer rider biomechanics assessment.

I can treat you and your horse
-
after assessing your horse we can look at your riding and work on areas of imbalance/asymmmetry.
